meet Riley

Riley Keuroglian is an artist raised in Augusta, Georgia. Riley began painting with aid from her Grandmother, who is a practicing watercolor artist. Painting and design has come naturally as she graduated from Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School with an emphasis in Art. She went to attend the University of Georgia, receiving her BFA in Summer of 2025. BFA in Studio Art, with an emphasis in Drawing and Painting, while minoring in Art History. She focuses on an interdisciplinary approach to painting, using mixed media techniques and overlays using acrylic layers underneath oil paint.

Riley dedicates her studies to color theory and motif exploration. Riley’s work is a mixture of reference and familiarity. Her exploration into modern avant garde is filled with horse imagery carried through life stages and nostalgia. She dives heavily into the idea of horses as a symbol of self, and illustrates perception as a collage. Her last series, Circus of Perception, was an experimental take on horses as a self reflection, surrounded by carnival and floral imagery. For Riley’s Exit Show, her next series is focused on perfecting the avant garde and understanding color theory.

For formal research projects, Riley has dedicated her final years at UGA studying the Lowcountry of South Carolina, an ode to growing up in the American South and understanding the landscape of habitat and experience. Beaufort County, a county in the southern part of the South Carolina coast has been the point of interest for her work, as she has finished two painting series from historical and field research in the area. Studying historical records provided by the Beaufort Historical Society, University of South Carolina’s McKissick Museum, The Georgia Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Historical and Personal documentation has been the subject of her paintings, with instructional aid from Margaret Morrison and Benjamin Britton at the University of Georgia.
